Branchial Pouches: 1st Pouch

Branchial Pouch and (1) Wand
The branchial pouches are found on the endodermal side of the branchial (pharyngeal) apparatus and separates the branchial arches. The 1st branchial pouch develops into the middle ear cavity, the eustachian tube and mastoid air cells. The 1st pouch also contributes to the endoderm lined structures of the ear.
