Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences

Gardener planting Multiple Intelligences
Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences states that there are several seperate mental abilities. He theorized that the brain processes information as a series of modules, which has caused teachers to strive to cater towards several of a child's intelligences. Examples of these different intelligences include the linguistic, musical, spatial, logical-mathematical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal and naturalist intellegences.
Linguistic (Verbal)
Talking and Writing

The linguistic intelligence describes the area of the brain that is responsible for verbal communication.

Spatial (Visual)

The spatial intelligence describes the part of the brain processing visual and spatial information.

Composing Music

Some people can be musically gifted, and have a higher musical intelligence, which correlates to the part of the brain is responsible for music.

Body-kinesthetic (Movement)

The body-kinesthetic intelligence describes people who are intelligent with physical movement and action.

People can be intelligent in logical-mathematical skills. This correlates to the "module" of the brain which processes logic and mathematics.

Intrapersonal (Understanding Self)
Self Reflecting

Some people can be intrapersonally intelligent, which is understanding themselves well.

Interpersonal (Understanding Others)
Mediating Others

Interpersonal intelligence describes people who can understand others well. This means that their brain "module" for interpersonal communication is well developed.

This describes intelligence in the realm of the natural world, and excelling when it comes to working with nature.
